Bachelor of Arts in Music
For students attending classes at Cochise College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. Entrance examinations in musicianship and the major performance area are required. All transfer music majors (except piano and organ performance majors) must audition for placement in class or group piano instruction. A maximum of 72 units of community college credit may be applied to a Bachelors degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The University of Arizona 1995-97 General Catalog or contact the assistant director of the School of Music (621-1454) for additional information.
MAJOR REQUIREMENTS
MUSIC--7 units
- MUS 130 (for use as an elective), 132, 133
In addition to the music courses listed above, students should complete four units of individual instruction in their major instrument or voice and two units of conducted ensemble.

College algebra is the minimum mathematics requirement. One of the following higher level mathematics courses may be substituted:

This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the fourth semester level. Refer to Credit by Examination in The University of Arizona 1995-97 General Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. Course work available at Cochise College includes the following:
