Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a major in Nutritional Science

For students attending classes at Eastern Arizona College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. The College of Agriculture offers the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with majors in agricultural and resource economics, agricultural education, agricultural technology management, animal science (business and race track management, production and science), nutritional science, plant sciences, soil and water science, biochemistry, microbiology, environmental science and veterinary science. A maximum of 72 units of community college credit may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. The following courses are available at Eastern Arizona College for application to the selected specialization:

ENGLISH--6 units

COMMUNICATION--6 units

MATHEMATICS--3 units

STUDY AREAS
Select course work from five of the six following study areas. In order to meet general education requirements, students must include BIOLOGICAL AND LIFE SCIENCES and PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES among the five study areas selected. When specific courses are identified by major within a study area, those courses are required to meet study area and major requirements. A minimum of 32 units is required in the five study areas selected.

1. WESTERN CIVILIZATION--6-9 units

2. BIOLOGICAL AND LIFE SCIENCES--8 units, one lab required

3. PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES--8 units

4. INDIVIDUALS, SOCIETIES AND INSTITUTIONS--6-9 units

* This course is required for the major in Nutritional Science.

5. NON-WESTERN CIVILIZATIONS--3 units

6. ARTS, LITERATURE AND LANGUAGE--6 units
