Bachelor of Arts with a major in Latin American Studies

For students attending classes at the Maricopa County Community Colleges and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 72 units of community college credit may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The University of Arizona 1995-97 General Catalog or contact the Office of Academic Services (621-3336) for additional information.

Completion of the elementary Portuguese courses will partially fulfill the major requirements and the second language requirement. The intermediate level language course work may be completed after transfer to The University of Arizona.

SECOND LANGUAGE--16 units
This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the fourth semester level. Refer to Credit by Examination in The University of Arizona 1995-97 General Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. This requirement may be met by completing the language course work listed under major requirements.
