Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Musical Theatre

For students attending classes at Mohave Community College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 72 units of community college credit may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The University of Arizona 1995-97 General Catalog or contact the assistant dean for the College of Fine Arts (621-1301) for additional information.

An audition is required the semester prior to enrollment in the Theatre Arts Department.

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS

Musical theatre majors must complete a minimum of eight units of course work in private instruction. In addition, course work in conducted ensembles or musical productions is required.

THEATRE ARTS--8 units

ENGLISH--6 units

• ENG 101, 102

MATHEMATICS--3 units

• MAT 151

College algebra is the minimum mathematics requirement. One of the following higher level mathematics courses may be substituted:

• MAT 211, 221, 231, 241, 260

ORAL COMMUNICATION--3 units

• Complete this course work after transfer to the UA.

A course may not be used to fulfill requirements in more than one study area.
