Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Studio Art
Specializations available in Two-Dimensional, Three-Dimensional, Graphics, Illustration, Photography or New Genre

For students attending classes at Northland Pioneer College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 72 units of community college credit may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The University of Arizona 1995-97 General Catalog or contact the assistant dean for the College of Fine Arts (621-1301) for additional information.

Photography, graphic design and illustration majors require portfolio review and acceptance by the Portfolio Committee at The University of Arizona. Contact an art faculty advisor at Northland Pioneer College for assistance in portfolio preparation and presentation.

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of 18 units of art course work must be completed in residence at The University of Arizona for this major.

GENERAL EDUCATION SKILLS AND PROFICIENCIES

ENGLISH--6 units

MATHEMATICS--3 units

One of the following higher level mathematics courses may be substituted:

ORAL COMMUNICATION--3 units

GENERAL EDUCATION STUDY AREAS
A course may not be used to fulfill requirements in more than one study area.

WESTERN CIVILIZATION--6 units

SCIENCE--3 units (with or without laboratory)

INDIVIDUALS, SOCIETIES AND INSTITUTIONS--6 units

NON-WESTERN AND MINORITY STUDIES--3 units

ARTS--6 units (other than art); only three units of performance or production course work may be applied to this requirement.
