Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Theatre Production
Options available in Design/Technical Production or Acting/Directing

For students attending classes at Northland Pioneer College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 72 units of community college credit may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The University of Arizona 1995-97 General Catalog or contact the assistant dean for the College of Fine Arts (621-1301) for additional information.

Admission into advanced theatre arts courses at The University of Arizona is by interview and audition or portfolio review upon completion of all required lower division theatre arts courses.

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS

THEATRE ARTS--9 units

GENERAL EDUCATION SKILLS AND PROFICIENCIES

ENGLISH--6 units

MATHEMATICS--3 units

One of the following higher level mathematics courses may be substituted:

ORAL COMMUNICATION--3 units

GENERAL EDUCATION STUDY AREAS
A course may not be used to fulfill requirements in more than one study area.

WESTERN CIVILIZATION--6 units

SCIENCE--3 units (with or without laboratory)

INDIVIDUALS, SOCIETIES AND INSTITUTIONS--6 units

NON-WESTERN AND MINORITY STUDIES--3 units

ARTS--6 units (other than theatre arts); only three units of performance or production course work may be applied to this requirement.
