Bachelor of Arts with a major in Economics
For students attending classes at Northland Pioneer College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 72 units of community college credit may be applied to a bachelors degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The University of Arizona 1995-97 General Catalog or contact the Office of Academic Services (621-3336) for additional information.
MAJOR REQUIREMENTS

Calculus is prerequisite to upper-division core economics courses. Economics students are encouraged to take additional mathematics courses. Students interested in graduate study in economics should take MAT 230 and, if possible, MAT 231 and 231.

College algebra is the minimum mathematics requirement. One of the following higher level mathematics courses may be substituted:

Refer to Credit by Examination in The University of Arizona 1995-97 General Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated.
