Bachelor of Science in Renewable Natural Resources

For students attending classes at Pima Community College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. The School of Renewable Natural Resources offers undergraduate majors in range management, watershed management and wildlife and fisheries science. Refer to The University of Arizona 1995-97 General Catalog or contact the undergraduate coordinator for the School of Renewable Natural Resources (621-7262) for additional information.

Please note: A transfer guide may list more than 72 units of course work. A maximum of 72 units of community college credit may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Consult your advisor regarding course selection.

COMPUTER SKILLS**

Watershed Management--3 units CSC 140

** All students should be familiar with microcomputer operation. Those lacking this skill should enroll in a CSC course to gain competency. All students are required to enroll in a computer application course offered by The University of Arizona.

STUDY AREAS
All students must complete five of the six study areas listed below with a minimum of 32 units total and meet the minimum for each category selected. Range management, watershed management, and wildlife and fisheries students must meet all listed requirements for categories B, C and D.

1. WESTERN CIVILIZATION--6 units

2. BIOLOGICAL AND LIFE SCIENCES--8 units, one lab required

3. PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE--8 units

4. INDIVIDUALS, SOCIETIES AND INSTITUTIONS--6 units

*** The remaining units in this category include a course in natural resource economics offered by the UA.

5. NON-WESTERN CIVILIZATION--3 units

6. ARTS, LITERATURE AND LANGUAGE--6 units

PLEASE NOTE: STUDENTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO COMPLETE HDE 105, "TRANSFER STRATEGIES!" This course offers UA campus visits; meetings with UA staff members who represent the Offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, The Center for Transfer Students and other University resources; and consultation for evaluating transfer timing. While this course is nontransferable, it does contribute to the grade point average for admission to the University. See a P.C.C. counselor/advisor about enrolling in HDE 105.
