1996-97 Pima Community College transfer guide

College of Architecture

The College of Architecture has a five-year program leading to the Bachelor of Architecture degree. While some required general education and elective course work may be completed at Pima Community College, students who desire to complete the Architecture program in the shortest possible time should transfer to The University of Arizona after one semester. However, those students who complete the basic first-year courses and up to 18 units of elective courses at Pima Community College may find themselves better prepared for the rigorous curriculum in the College of Architecture.

The first year of the Architecture program is pre-professional. Admission into the professional phase (second-fifth years) is selective and competitive and occurs only once each year in June for the fall semester admission. There are three required architecture courses in the first year which must be completed at The University of Arizona. Many transfer students find it advantageous to transfer in January in order to complete these three courses and qualify for the professional phase of the program for the following August. Refer to The University of Arizona General Catalog or contact Susan Moody, Associate Dean, College of Architecture (621-6751) for more information.

Please note: A transfer guide may list more than 72 units of course work. A maximum of 72 units of community college credit may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Consult your advisor regarding course selection.
