Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in Special Education and Rehabilitation
For students attending classes at Yavapai College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 72 units of community college credit may be applied to a bachelors degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The University of Arizona 1995-97 General Catalog or contact the Office of Student and Career Services in the College of Education (Education Bldg., Rm. 247) for additional information (621-7865).
Formal admission to the College of Education is required of all undergraduate students who wish to pursue a major in the College of Education. Admission to the College of Education is limited. The deadlines for admission are the second Friday in September for any Spring term and the second Friday in February for any Fall term. Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
GENERAL EDUCATION SKILLS AND PROFICIENCIES
ENGLISH--6 units
- ENG 101 or 103
- ENG 102 or 104
MATHEMATICS--3 units
- MTH 131
College algebra is the minimum mathematics requirement. One of the following higher level mathematics courses may be substituted:
- MTH 151, 152, 180, 181, 195, 230, 251, 274
SECOND LANGUAGE--16 units
This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the fourth semester level. Refer to Credit by Examination in The University of Arizona 1995-97 General Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. Course work available at Yavapai College includes the following:

Note: If students select German or Latin, the intermediate level of study may be completed upon transfer to The University of Arizona.
