Bachelor of Arts with a major in German Studies

For students attending classes at Northland Pioneer College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 72 units of community college credit may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The University of Arizona On-line Catalog or contact the Office of Academic Services (621-3336) for additional information.

The intermediate level of study may be completed after transfer to The University of Arizona.

MATHEMATICS--3 units

• MAT 130

College algebra is the minimum mathematics requirement. One of the following higher level mathematics courses may be substituted:

• MAT 155, 220, 230, 231, 232, 290

SECOND LANGUAGE--16 units
This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the fourth semester level. Refer to Examination Policies in The University of Arizona On-line Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. This requirement may be fulfilled by completing the major requirements listed above.

One of the study area courses (identified with an * [asterisk] preceding the course number) must focus on gender, class, race or ethnicity.

TRADITIONS AND CULTURES--9 units from List 1 and List 2

LIST 1 (Non-Western Traditions and Cultures) - complete the following course:

This requirement is to be satisfied by completing courses which include laboratory work. Students are strongly encouraged to take either courses in the biological sciences or courses in the physical sciences when completing this requirement.
