Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a major in Agricultural Education

For students attending classes at Pima Community College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. The College of Agriculture offers the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture majors in agricultural and resource economics, agricultural education, agricultural technology management, microbiology, biochemistry, animal science (business and race track management, production and science), nutritional sciences, plant sciences, soil and water science, veterinary science and the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science. Refer to The University of Arizona On-line Catalog or contact the Academic Programs Office in the College of Agriculture (621-3611) for additional information.

Please note: A transfer guide may list more than 72 units of course work. A maximum of 72 units of community college credit may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Consult your advisor regarding course selection.

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS

There are no equivalent courses available at Pima Community College for the major in Agricultural Education. Complete this requirement after transfer to The University of Arizona.

GENERAL EDUCATION STUDY AREAS
Select course work from five of the following six study areas. In order to meet general education requirements, students must include BIOLOGICAL AND LIFE SCIENCES and PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES among the five study areas selected. A minimum of 32 units is required in the five study areas selected.

1. WESTERN CIVILIZATION--6-9 units

2. BIOLOGICAL AND LIFE SCIENCES--8 units, one lab required

3. PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES--8 units

4. INDIVIDUALS, SOCIETIES AND INSTITUTIONS--6-9 units

5. NON-WESTERN CIVILIZATIONS--3 units

6. ARTS, LITERATURE AND LANGUAGE--6 units

PLEASE NOTE: STUDENTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO COMPLETE HDE 105, "TRANSFER STRATEGIES!" This course offers UA campus visits; meetings with UA staff members who represent the Offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, The Center for Transfer Students and other University resources; and consultation for evaluating transfer timing. This course transfers to the UA as elective credit. See a P.C.C. counselor/advisor about enrolling in HDE 105.
