Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Fine Arts Studies

For students attending classes at Pima Community College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. Refer to The University of Arizona On-line Catalog or contact the College of Fine Arts (621-1301) for additional information.

Please note: A transfer guide may list more than 72 units of course work. A maximum of 72 units of community college credit may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Consult your advisor regarding course selection.

A minimum of 125 units are required for completion of this degree. At least 45 units of the 125 must be taken from areas other than those chosen as the Fine Arts Emphasis Areas.

FINE ARTS EMPHASIS REQUIREMENTS

1. Complete 72 units of Fine Arts course work with at least 24 units taken in residence at The University of Arizona.
2. Courses are to be chosen from three of the following Fine Arts departments: Art, Dance, Media Arts*, Music and Theatre Arts. With advisor approval, a department outside of Fine Arts may be used for a maximum of 24 units.
3. A minimum of 24 units must be taken in each of the three areas; 12 units in each area must be upper-division.

* Note: Students must meet Media Arts Advanced Standing requirements.

PLEASE NOTE: STUDENTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO COMPLETE HDE 105, "TRANSFER STRATEGIES!" This course offers UA campus visits; meetings with UA staff members who represent the Offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, The Center for Transfer Students and other University resources; and consultation for evaluating transfer timing. This course transfers to the UA as elective credit. See a P.C.C. counselor/advisor about enrolling in HDE 105.
