SPECIAL ADMISSION INFORMATION REGARDING THE COLLEGE OF NURSING
Admission to the College of Nursing is selective and competitive. Applicants for admission to the College of Nursing must first meet the general admission requirements to The University of Arizona. Students must complete the pre-nursing curriculum (the first three semesters including Nursing 255 and Nutritional Sciences 310, which must be taken at the University) prior to entering the College of Nursing for the second semester of the sophomore year. Students are encouraged to contact the College of Nursing early, (when one course which will transfer has been completed), for advising assistance to ensure timely completion of the pre-nursing course requirements. Information sessions are held twice a month, with attendance strongly recommended. An evaluation of transcripts is required before an advising appointment can be made.
Application for admission to the College of Nursing should be filed by December 1 for students seeking admission to the fall semester and by July 1 for students seeking admission to the spring semester. Requirements for application to the College of Nursing are as follows:
Since enrollment in the College of Nursing is limited, completion of the pre-nursing curriculum and achievement of the minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.750 do not ensure admission. Students who are admitted to the College of Nursing must enroll full time; in addition, they must enroll for all required courses in the designated semester.

An associate degree in nursing from an accredited ADN program and successful completion of the NCLEX-RN satisfies 27 units of clinical nursing course work for the BSN degree at The University of Arizona College of Nursing. A maximum of 72 units of community college credit may be applied to a bachelors degree program at The University of Arizona.
