Bachelor of Science with a major in Astronomy

For students attending classes at Central Arizona College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog or contact the Office of Academic Services (621-3336) for additional information. SECOND LANGUAGE -- This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the second semester level. Refer to Examination Policies in The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. Course work available at Central Arizona College includes the following:

• SPA 101, 102

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS -- Thirty credits of Astronomy course work, of which 20 credits must be upper-division, are required for the major in Astronomy. ASTR 300a-300b and 400a-400b are required courses not available at Central Arizona College which must be completed after transfer.
