Bachelor of Arts with a major in Interdisciplinary Studies For students attending classes at Coconino Community College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelors degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog or contact the Office of Academic Services (621-3336) for additional information. SECOND LANGUAGE -- This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the fourth semester level. MAJOR REQUIREMENTS -- The Interdisciplinary Studies degree is a special major which allows students to combine three disciplines (two of which must be in the Colleges of Humanities, Science, and/or Social and Behavioral Sciences) into a coherent and intellectually challenging program of academic concentration that is not otherwise available through the colleges' departmentally based majors and minors. Designing the major requires that the student (1) construct the program of study with the aid of an academic advisor from the Office of Academic Services and the three departmental advisors; (2) prepare a written proposal; and (3) have the final proposal and program accepted by the University College.
