Bachelor of Arts with a major in Economics

For students attending classes at Coconino Community College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog or contact the Office of Academic Services (621-3336) for additional information. SECOND LANGUAGE -- This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the fourth semester level. Refer to Examination Policies in The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. Course work available at Coconino Community College includes the following:

  • NAV 101, 102
  • SLG 101, 102
  • SPA 101, 102, 201, 202

Note: If students select French, Navajo or Sign Language, the intermediate level of study may be completed upon transfer to The University of Arizona.

  • MAT 212 or 220
 

Calculus is a prerequisite to upper-division core economics courses. Economics students are encouraged to take additional mathematics courses. Students interested in graduate study in economics should take MAT 220 and, if possible, MAT 230 and 240.
