Bachelor of Arts with a major in English

For students attending classes at Coconino Community College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog or contact the Office of Academic Services (621-3336) for additional information. SECOND LANGUAGE -- This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the fourth semester level. Refer to Examination Policies in The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. Course work available at Coconino Community College includes the following:

  • FRE 101, 102
  • NAV 101, 102
  • SLG 101, 102
  • SPA 101, 102, 201, 202

Note: If students select French, Navajo or Sign Language, the intermediate level of study may be completed upon transfer to The University of Arizona.

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS -- Students must complete 36 credits of upper-division (junior-senior level) course work in English and American literature after transfer to the UA. In preparation for transfer, students should complete requirements in the Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC-A).
