Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Musical Theatre

For students attending classes at Eastern Arizona College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog or contact the College of Fine Arts (621-1301) for additional information. SECOND LANGUAGE -- This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the second semester level. Refer to Examination Policies in The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. Course work available at Eastern Arizona College includes the following:

• FRE 101, 102
• GER 101, 102
• SPA 101, 102

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS -- An audition is required the semester prior to enrollment for placement in the Theatre Arts Department at The University of Arizona.

Musical theatre majors must complete a minimum of eight credits of course work in private voice instruction. In addition, course work in conducted ensembles or musical productions is required.

Dance--5 credits

• DAN 120 or 121, 132 or 133, 150 or 151, 232 or 233

Theatre Arts--16 credits

• THC 110, 140, 141, 200 or 201, 210, 231

REQUIREMENTS OUTSIDE THE MAJOR DEPARTMENT -- The following courses may be completed at Eastern Arizona College for application to this requirement.

• Dramatic Literature -- ENG 201 or 202
