Bachelor of Arts with a major in Near Eastern Studies For students attending classes at the Maricopa County Community Colleges and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelors degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog or contact the Office of Academic Services (621-3336) for additional information. If you will not be completing this transfer guide, see the "Options for Completion of the University General Education Requirement."
SECOND LANGUAGE -- This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the fourth semester level. Refer to Examination Policies in The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. This requirement may be met by completing the language course work listed under major requirements. MAJOR REQUIREMENTS Arabic--8 credits
Departmental validation by placement examination may be required to determine equivalency to comparable courses at The University of Arizona. The second language requirement may be partially fulfilled by the major requirements. The intermediate level of language course work should be completed after transfer to The University of Arizona.
