Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Musical Theatre For students attending classes at the Maricopa County Community Colleges and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelors degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog or contact the College of Fine Arts (621-1301) for additional information. SECOND LANGUAGE -- This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the second semester level. Refer to Examination Policies in The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. Course work available at the Maricopa County Community Colleges includes the following. For Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, Japanese or Sign Language sequences, a placement test may be required to appropriately place students or to satisfy fourth semester proficiency.
MAJOR REQUIREMENTS -- An audition is required in the semester prior to enrollment in the Theatre Arts Department at The University of Arizona. Musical theatre majors must complete a minimum of eight credits of course work in private voice instruction. In addition, course work in conducted ensembles or musical productions is required. Theatre Arts--24 credits
REQUIREMENTS OUTSIDE THE MAJOR DEPARTMENT -- The following courses may be completed in the Maricopa District for application to this requirement:
