Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Musical Theatre

For students attending classes at Mohave Community College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog or contact the College of Fine Arts (621-1301) for additional information. SECOND LANGUAGE -- This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the second semester level. Refer to Examination Policies in The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. Course work available at Mohave Community College includes the following:

• FRE 101, 102
• LTN 141, 142
• SPN 101, 102, 201, 202

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS -- An audition is required the semester prior to enrollment in the Theatre Arts Department.

Musical theatre majors must complete a minimum of eight credits of course work in private instruction. In addition, course work in conducted ensembles or musical productions is required.

GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS OUTSIDE THE MAJOR DEPARTMENT -- The following courses may be completed at Mohave Community College for application to this requirement.

• Dramatic Literature -- ENG 231 or 232 and ENG 261
• Music Literature -- MUS 280, 281
