Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Dance

For students attending classes at Northland Pioneer College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog or contact the College of Fine Arts (621-1301) for additional information. Freshman Composition--6 credits
Arts and Humanities--9 credits
Biological and Physical Sciences--8 credits
Mathematics--3 credits
Social and Behavioral Sciences--9 credits

SECOND LANGUAGE -- This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the second semester level. Refer to Examination Policies in The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. Course work available at Northland Pioneer College includes the following:

  • FRE 101, 102
  • GER 101, 102
  • LAN 201, 202
  • SPA 101, 102

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS -- Equivalent courses are not available at Northland Pioneer College for the major in Dance. Students should complete requirements in the AGEC-A to best prepare for transfer and progress toward this degree.

A minimum of 42 credits of dance courses must be completed in residence at The University of Arizona for this major. Dance majors must audition for placement in dance technique courses.
