Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a major in Health Education

For students attending classes at Pima Community College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. Students may obtain a major in health education with an option in community health or school health education. Prior to formal admission to the School of Health Professions, students interested in this major should register in the University College with a major in Pre-Health Education. Refer to The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog or the Health Education Program (626-7863) for additional information. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Consult your advisor regarding course selection. A cumulative grade-point average of 2.25 (4.0 scale) or higher on all college course work completed.

In order to be eligible for enrollment in professional Education courses taught in the College of Education, students selecting this option must meet the following requirements:

Completion of a minimum of 12 credits at The University of Arizona.
Passing score on the Upper-Division Writing Proficiency Examination or completion of a Developmental Writing Workshop.

This course offers UA campus visits; meetings with UA staff members who represent the Offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, The Center for Transfer Students and other University resources; and consultation for evaluating transfer timing. This course transfers to the UA as elective credit. See a P.C.C. counselor/advisor about enrolling in HDE 105.
