Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences

For students attending classes at Yavapai College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. ARIZONA GENERAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM (AGEC-A)--35 credits (click here to see course lists)
Freshman Composition--6 credits
Humanities and Fine Arts--9 credits
Biological and Physical Sciences--8 credits
Mathematics--3 credits
Social and Behavioral Sciences--9 credits

SECOND LANGUAGE -- This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the second semester level. Refer to Examination Policies in The UA Desert Lynx On-line Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. Course work available at Yavapai College includes the following:

  • FRE 101, 102
  • GER 101, 102
  • ITA 101, 102
  • LAT 101, 102
  • SPA 101, 102

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS -- Eight credits of laboratory science courses are required in addition to the biology courses listed below. Refer to the biological and physical sciences area in the AGEC-S for a list of options.

  • MTH 131, 132 or 151 or 230
