Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Dance

For students attending classes at Central Arizona College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. Refer to The UA General Catalog or contact the College of Fine Arts (621-1301) for additional information. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. SECOND LANGUAGE -- This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the second semester level. Refer to Examination Policies in The UA General Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. Course work available at Central Arizona College includes the following:

• FRE 101, 102
• SPA 101, 102, 201, 202

Note: If students select French, the intermediate level of study may be completed upon transfer to The University of Arizona.

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS -- Equivalent courses are not available at Central Arizona College for the major in Dance. Students should complete requirements in the Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC-A) to best prepare for transfer and progress toward this degree.

A minimum of 42 credits of dance courses must be completed in residence at The University of Arizona for this major. Dance majors must audition for placement in dance technique courses.

DEPARTMENTAL REQUIREMENT--9 credits. The following courses are available at Central Arizona College for application toward this requirement.

• MHL 100, 207 or six credits of applied music or music performance
• THE 103 or 104
