| For students attending classes at Yavapai College and
preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is
recommended. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to
a bachelors degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The UA General Catalog or contact the Office of Student and Career Services in
the College of Education (Education Bldg., Rm.
247) for additional information (621-7865). Elementary Education majors must choose a
subject matter concentration from the list below. A maximum of nine units may be taken at
the community college (after AGEC-A requirements). If you will not be completing this

General Education Requirements."
Formal admission to the College of Education is required of all undergraduate students who wish to pursue a major or earn a teaching certificate in the College of Education. Admission to the College of Education is competitive. The deadlines for admission are the second Friday in September for any Spring term and the second Friday in February for any Fall term. Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
SECOND LANGUAGE -- This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the fourth semester level. Refer to Examination Policies in The UA General Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. Course work available at Yavapai College includes the following:
Note: If students select German, Italian, or Latin, the intermediate level of study may be completed upon transfer to The University of Arizona. RECOMMENDED ELECTIVES -- anthropology (suggested, ANTH 215), psychology (suggested, PSYC 101), sociology, fine arts (art, music, theatre arts, dance), science, history (suggested, HIST 131, 132). MATH 150 and 155, in addition to requirements for AGEC-A, will substitute for MATH 301 at the UA. As part of the teacher certification process, the State of Arizona requires all teachers to:
