recommended. Admission into the professional phase of the pharmacy program is very
competitive and requires the completion of the pre-pharmacy curriculum. A maximum of 64
credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelors degree
program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The

ADMISSION INFORMATION REGARDING THE COLLEGE OF
PHARMACY
Admission into the College of
Pharmacy at The University of Arizona is selective and competitive. Applicants for
admission to the College of Pharmacy must first meet the general admission requirements to
The University of Arizona. General admission to the University does not guarantee
admission to the professional phase of the pharmacy program. Although the College of
Pharmacy does admit out-of-state residents, preference is given to Arizona residents.
Students are only admitted into the College of Pharmacy once each year for the fall
semester. All science prerequisites must be completed the spring semester prior to being
admitted. Students are highly encouraged to contact the College of Pharmacy for advising assistance and
to ensure timely completion of the pre-pharmacy course requirements.
Application for admission to the College of Pharmacy should be initiated
a year before the anticipated admission date. The deadline for application is mid-January
of the year for which admission is sought. Requirements for application to the College of
Pharmacy include:
- Application for admission to The University of Arizona.
- Official transcripts of course work completed at all post-secondary
institutions previously attended. To be official, transcripts must be sent directly from
the previous institution to The University of Arizona, College of Pharmacy.
- A list of pre-pharmacy courses remaining to be completed and the plan for
completion.
- A student profile questionnaire (the application) and essay.
- Three letters of recommendation.
- A personal interview, if selected.
- The Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT). Call 1-800-622-3231 for more
information.
All necessary forms and applications may be obtained from the College of
Pharmacy. All completed applications, forms and supplemental materials should be sent directly
to the College of Pharmacy to ensure timeliness of admission consideration.
