Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Theatre Arts Education
For students attending classes at Cochise College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. Refer to The UA General Catalog or contact the College of Fine Arts (621-1301) for additional information. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. MAJOR REQUIREMENTS -- A minimum of 18 credits of theatre arts courses must be completed in residence at The University of Arizona for the major in Theatre Arts Education.

COLLEGE OF EDUCATION -- Consult a theatre arts education advisor at The University of Arizona for assistance in selecting the required course work. Students pursuing a major in theatre arts education must meet the following special requirements before being admitted to the Teacher Education Program:
- Completion of 56 units of credit applicable to a baccalaureate degree.
- Cumulative grade-point average of 2.50 (4.0 scale) or higher on the most current 56 credits of college course work.
- Completion of the theater arts core curriculum.
- A personal interview.
As part of the teacher certification process, the State of Arizona requires all teachers to:
- Satisfactorily complete the Arizona examination on United States and
Arizona constitutions;
or - Satisfactorily complete course work POS 220 or POS 110 and POS 221 on the United States and Arizona constitutions.
