Bachelor of Arts with a major in Economics

For students attending classes at Mohave Community College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The UA General Catalog or contact the Office of Academic Services (621-3336) for additional information. Humanities and Fine Arts--6-9 credits
Biological and Physical Sciences--8 credits

Social and Behavioral Sciences--6-9 credits

SECOND LANGUAGE -- This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the fourth semester level. Refer to Examination Policies in The UA General Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. Course work available at Mohave Community College includes the following:

  • FRE 101, 102
  • LTN 141, 142
  • SPA 101, 102, 201, 202

Note: If students select French or Latin, the intermediate level of study may be completed upon transfer to The University of Arizona.

  • GBS 241*, 242*
Mathematics--3 credits
  • MAT 221

Calculus is the prerequisite to upper-division core economics courses. Economics students are encouraged to take additional mathematics courses. Students interested in graduate study in economics should also take, if possible, MAT 231 and 241.
