Bachelor of Arts with a major in French For students attending classes at Coconino Community College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelors degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The UA General Catalog or contact the Office of Academic Services (621-3336) for additional information. If you will not be completing this transfer guide, see the "Acceptance of Transfer Course Work to meet UA General Education Requirements."
SECOND LANGUAGE -- This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the fourth semester level. Refer to Examination Policies in The UA General Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. This requirement may be fulfilled by completing the language course work listed under the major requirements. MAJOR REQUIREMENTS French--8 credits
Equivalent courses counting directly toward the 36-unit major in French are not available at Coconino Community College, but in preparation for transfer, students should complete French 101-102 and requirements in the Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC-A). Upon transfer to The University of Arizona, students who have successfully completed French 102 should complete French 201 or the equivalent prior to beginning their course work in the major, which consists of French 202 plus 32 credits at the upper-division (junior and senior) level.
