Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Dance

For students attending classes at Eastern Arizona College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. Refer to The UA General Catalog or contact the College of Fine Arts (621-1301) for additional information.  A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona.   If you will not be completing this transfer guide, see the "Acceptance of Transfer Course Work to meet UA General Education Requirements."

SECOND LANGUAGE -- This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the second semester level. Refer to Examination Policies in The UA General Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. Course work available at Eastern Arizona College includes the following:

• ASL 101, 102
• FRE 101, 102
• GER 101, 102
• SPA 101, 102

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS -- A minimum of 42 credits of dance courses for this major must be completed in residence at The University of Arizona. Dance majors must audition for placement in dance technique courses.

Dance--4 credits

• DAN 122, 123, 222, 223

DEPARTMENTAL REQUIREMENTS--9 credits. The following courses are available at Eastern Arizona College for application toward this requirement.

• MUS 101, 102 or six credits of applied music or music performance and

select three credits from:

• THC 140, 141, 230, 231, 236
