School of Architecture The School of Architecture has a five-year program leading to the Bachelor of Architecture degree. While some required general education classes may be completed at the Maricopa County Community Colleges, students should be aware that there are 10 semesters of studio in the architecture program and that 5 years is the minimum amount of time possible in which to complete them. Students who complete the basic first-year courses and up to the complete AGEC at the Maricopa County Community Colleges may find themselves better prepared for the rigorous curriculum in the School of Architecture. A minimum of ten additional semesters will be required after transfer. The first year of the architecture program is pre-professional. Admission into the professional phase (second through fifth year) is selective and competitive and occurs only once each year in June for entry into the fall semester. There are two required architecture courses, one each semester, in the first year which must be completed at The University of Arizona. A maximum of 46 credits of community college course work may be applied toward the B. Arch. degree program at The University of Arizona. Refer to The UA General Catalog or contact the assistant dean, School of Architecture (621-6751) for more information. FIRST YEAR REQUIREMENTS
