Bachelor of Science with a major in Psychology

For students attending classes at Pima Community College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. Refer to The UA General Catalog or contact the Office of Academic Services (621-3336) for additional information. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at The University of Arizona. Consult your advisor regarding course selection. SECOND LANGUAGE -- This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the second semester level. Refer to Examination Policies in The UA General Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated. MAJOR REQUIREMENTS -- Thirty-six credits of psychology course work, of which 18 credits must be upper-division are required for this major.

  • PSY 132, 140, 200, 210, 214, 215, 216, 218, 220, 250*, 254, 265, 271, 273
Mathematics--3 credits

Supporting Science Requirement:
  • BIO 181IN and 182IN

  • BIO 201IN and 202IN

AND

  • CHM 151/151LL and 152/152LL

  • PHY 121/121LB and 122/122LB

Also required for the Bachelor of Science in Psychology is the completion of a MINOR in one of the following: Biochemistry, Computer Science, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Mathematics, Molecular and Cellular Biology, or Physics. PLEASE NOTE: STUDENTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO COMPLETE STU 210, "TRANSFER STRATEGIES" This course offers UA campus visits; meetings with UA staff members who represent the Offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, The Center for Transfer Students and other University resources; and consultation for evaluating transfer timing. This course transfers to the UA as elective credit. See a P.C.C. counselor/advisor about enrolling in STU 210.
