Bachelor of Science in Public Administration

For students attending classes at Eastern Arizona College and preparing to transfer to The University of Arizona, the following course work is recommended. A maximum of 64 credits of community college course work may be applied toward a Business and Public Administration college degree program. Refer to The UA General Catalog or contact the Undergraduate Programs Office in the Eller College of Business and Public Administration (621-2505) for additional information. Foundation Courses Required for Professional Admission

*prerequisite is College Algebra or placement
**Beginning Spring 2005 Microsoft Excel Expert Certification will be required for Professional Admission.  Please contact an Eller College advisor for further information.

Upon transfer to The University of Arizona, students will also need to complete PA 206 and PA 221 (for Public Management and Policy and Health and Human Services majors) or PA 241 (for Criminal Justice majors).  These courses must be completed for Professional Admission.

AJS 220 and 225 do transfer to The University of Arizona as Criminal Justice Administration major courses but students are given lower-division credit for them.  Therefore, students may need more upper-division units for graduation.

The above-listed courses include some, but not all, of the required AGEC courses. Consult your Eastern Arizona advisor regarding AGEC completion.

Professional Admission is required for entry to the professional phase of the BSPA degree program. 

To be eligible to apply (no guarantee of admission):

• Admitted to the University of Arizona. All Professional Admission decisions will be unofficial until all transcripts are deemed official by the Office of Admissions

• Have completed a minimum of 42 units of work acceptable to the University of Arizona

• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 (this minimum is subject to change in future semesters) based on your cumulative GPA from your current institution

• Refer to the Eller College Undergraduate Programs webpage for required foundation course information.

• Students make application in September for Spring admission, and February for Fall admission.

Students are strongly encouraged to meet with a pre-business advisor in the Eller College Undergraduate Programs Office to ensure all requirements are met and that they are eligible to apply.  An appointment with one of our pre-business advisors can be made by calling (520) 621-2505.

SECOND LANGUAGE -- This requirement may be met by demonstrating proficiency in a single second language at the second semester level. Refer to Examination Policies in The UA General Catalog for additional information on ways in which proficiency may be demonstrated.
